![]() ![]() ![]() Ric Flair when he was in wrestling school. It had all the real promoters in the movie. Frank's efforts climax as he promotes an over-the-hill champion in the final matches of his career. Gamblers, mobsters, unscrupulous wrestlers, money-grubbing promoters, and fixers conspire to corrupt the industry, but Frank tries to make the game as honest and fair as it is his idealized vision. Promoting the world of professional wrestling at the expense of the plot itself, Frank Bass (Ed Asner) takes a stand and defends what he thinks is right. So Vern played the champion Mike Bullord. And all the 3 world champions was going to fight each other. It was about a promoter that got told by the other promoters that his champion was old and replace him. the wrestler staring Ed Asner from the Marry Tyler More show. Then in 2000's they showed the program on ESPN classics. One of the oldest wrestling shows and world titles gone. Then they quit working with the other 2 shows and took the belt away from Jerry Lawler. He won it once in a story line but the striped the title away from him. Then they worked with World Class in Texas. The WWF came in their state ran a wrestling show and took the great wrestlers. The show worked with some other shows back in the 1980's to try to Stop Vince and the WWF. It is long gone but I still can watch matches and get some great enjoyment from the show. But in fact it was a real not fake worked sport with a dive. A lot of holds, action, and besides a TV character they were a contest besides a worked sport. Not none of the fake stuff with a dive way back then. ![]() Vern convinced me as a fan of the show It was high school wrestling mixed with a pro wrestling rules. Vern wanted his son to have a belt to defend. The TV title was created for Vern Gange Son Greg because he did not want the worlds belt. Rode Warriors, Cursher, Shawn Michael and Marty Jannetty The Rockers, Jess Ventura, Greg Gange and others held the belts. Jerry Lawler, Curt Heening MR Perfect, Nick Bockwinkle, Larry Zbyszco, and Vern as a old man held the AWA words title belt. OK the old AWA belts and show was one of my favorite shows. ![]()
